Take off with Lufthansa’s children’s “Take-off!” app

Deutsche Lufthansa AG has released the ideal travel and flight companion app for children: “Take-off! The fun-packed journey for little passengers” was created by APPSfactory in close co-operation with KB&B for iOS and android phones. The app playfully teaches preschoolers what goes on at airports and in aeroplanes and also keeps them busy during any waiting time. Young app users go on a wonderful journey with Lukas, Hanna and the funny crane Lu, the Lufthansa mascot. The app offers six lovingly designed hidden illustrations portraying the entire travel chain, ranging from the check-in area to arriving at the destination. There’s plenty to discover even at the check-in at the airport: the pilot gets ready for the flight, the ground crew welcomes passengers and an amusing cleaning cart makes sure that the terminal is clean. At security check and in the departures lounge the children can see, which items are not allowed to be taken into the aeroplane and how passengers spend their time waiting. When they finally get into the plane, the app enables them to have a look in the cockpit and young app users can even try out a few buttons and switches. After arriving at the destination airport, children learn how luggage gets back to the travellers. All illustrations contain various animations and funny sound effects. Moreover, children can expect a game at each stage of travel where they can help to make airport procedure go smoothly. In this way they can help e.g. with a luggage system to match objects to the correct items of baggage and to allocate luggage to the right holidaymaker. In the departure lounge children can build a magnificent machine that then quickly loads travellers’ luggage into the cargo area. The flight companion helps children provide the passengers with food and drinks before they then guide their trolley at arrivals from the aeroplane to baggage reclaim. Young users can see their most current score at any time simply by collecting stickers they have received as prizes in the animations and games in a travel diary. “Take-off! The fun-packed journey for little passengers” has been designed specifically for children, is easy to use and has no in-app purchases or adverts. The app can be downloaded for free for Android and iOS. Have a good flight and eventful holiday!
