“New work” in SMEs – Dr Alexander Trommen in a panel discussion at Zukunftsland Sachsen
Leipzig, 10 May 2022 – Dr Alexander Trommen, Appsfactory’s CEO, is a guest in panel
discussion on “New Work – New Professional Worlds” at “Zukunftsland Sachsen”, a
digitalisation platform initiated by the Free State of Saxony and the Leipzig Graduate School of
Management (HHL).
The discussion will be taking place at SpinLab, Leipzig, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. You can
register here. The tickets are free of charge.
A discussion between digitalisation experts
The event will be hosted Claudia Lehmann, professor for digital innovation in the service
sector at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL). Karsten Fanke (Agile Coach at
F&P Creating Communities) and Mathias Tholey (founder of the nu company) will be joining Dr
Alexander Trommen.
“New work” in the SME sector
The topic of new professional worlds is linked closely to digitalisation. Companies are set to
face major challenges in the near future, particularly in the SME sector. Appsfactory was
invited to the discussion panel as an outstanding example to talk about its “new work” strategy.
How can SMEs leverage the changing circumstances, and how can companies best navigate the
home office and in-the-office phenomena in future? What are the blind spots in the context of
this transition, and might we need to rethink all the hype around remote working?
The panel discussion will include this and other focal points of the “new work” phenomenon,
such as new demands on workplaces and managers, especially in the light of the shortage of
skilled workers. Says Dr Alexander Trommen: “I am looking forward to the joint discussion
with Prof. Dr Claudia Lehmann and the other participants. I am particularly interested in the
exchange regarding skilled labour strategies and very much hope to be able to give SMEs in
Saxony and perhaps beyond an idea of “new work” on the basis of my findings.”
About the Zukunftsland Sachsen initiative
The State of Saxony is once again facing a decisive structural change. The phasing out of lignite
is currently changing the economy of the Free State. Progressive digitalisation can absorb the
shock of this approaching change and steer it in a positive direction. Additionally, digitalisation
has already profoundly and sustainably changed the worlds of life and work. The upcoming
change brings challenges to business models and daily work alike. Small and medium-sized
enterprises are looking for solutions. The “Zukunftsland Sachsen” initiative, created by the
Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism of the Free State of Saxony and the Leipzig Graduate
School of Management (HHL) showcases innovative, digital solutions and outstanding
examples in the Free State of Saxony.
