Innovative e-learning in the health sector for young physicians: The new MEDIsteps app by MEDI-LEARN and Appsfactory supports postgraduate medical training

Appsfactory was commissioned by MEDI-LEARN, a portal for medical students, prospective students, and young doctors, to develop the innovative MEDIsteps app. The app has been available for download in iOS and Android stores since the end of June. The mobile application helps young physicians to document training quickly and easily. Appsfactory released an app for young physicians already in 2015, in collaboration with Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank [German bank for pharmacists and physicians]. The “Lass mal kreuzen” [Let’s tick it off] app supports students of medicine and pharmacy, who study for their first degree exam, by presenting the extensive examination material in the form of a digital quiz.

Keep it short und simple – an app for postgraduate medical training in all specialties

Graduate physicians who receive specialist training can use MEDIsteps to record procedures they carry out and treatments they provide. The comfortable and quick recording process makes their daily work routine, which is often stressful, easier. The application offers a track record of the examinations performed, as well as a summary of personal progress. The app provides custom information on the current training progress, as well as on any gaps in user’s knowledge. It thus ensures that the requirements of specialist training regulations are complied with.

The particularly helpful export function simplifies the transfer of data into the logbook of the Medical Association. This is considered an official proof that the indicative number of points that are required for the respective discipline has been achieved. It is also an eligibility requirement for the specialist exam. Moreover, the offline functionality allows documenting activities anywhere and at all times.

State-of-the-art digital solution that replaces the paperwork

MEDIsteps, with its handy features, makes it possible to avoid cumbersome record keeping, copying of countless files, and collecting notes. The mobile solution can be used by junior physicians of all disciplines, as well as by other doctors, whether surgeons, general practitioners, or cardiologists, to document continuing education and training for additional qualifications.

Appsfactory wishes junior doctors all the best in their specialist training with the help of MEDIsteps app!
