DMEA 2019 – Connecting Digital Health: Appsfactory presents its expertise in certifying software as a medical device as well as mobile health applications
11 years since it came into existence, Europe’s most important event in the health IT sector for decision-makers from the healthcare industry, politics and science – DMEA – formerly conhIT (Connecting Healthcare IT), will take place under a new name. This is part of a strategic opening for new target and specialist groups from the healthcare sector, whereby the trade fair will present itself as a platform for digital healthcare from 2019 onwards. Appsfactory, Germany’s leading specialist agency for customer-centric digital transformation, is taking part in the Berlin trade fair for the first time and will be at Stand B112 in Hall 2.2 from 9 to 11 April 2019.
Creating mobile health apps for Beurer, Asklepios and apoBank
The Appsfactory portfolio shows that there is great potential for using mobile health apps at various points in the medical supply chain. With offices in Leipzig, Hamburg, Erfurt and Munich, the agency implements digital health applications for a wide range of customers and uses, including health equipment manufacturers, hospitals and health insurance companies. They have recently realised a particularly large number of projects in the field of mobile apps for medical devices, so-called connected devices. These devices communicate with mobile apps mainly via Bluetooth and measure, for example, individual body values such as blood pressure, weight and blood sugar as well as recording and monitoring the data in an app.
Appsfactory is an expert in certifying software as a medical device
In addition, Appsfactory will be available at their stand in Hall 2.2 with a wealth of information on the certification of software as a medical device. Experts from the agency can help interested parties to classify the status of their software on the way to having it certified as a medical device and to correctly select and plan the necessary next steps. Certification stages such as the regulatory strategy, QM system, life cycle processes, declaration of conformity and marketing the software are taken into account. Depending on the progress made on the way to certification, Appsfactory provides information on which parts of the process are to be completed in the next step.
