Appsfactory implements the new Toggolino app by SUPER RTL

As part of its strategy of a reorientation from a TV station to a content hub, SUPER RTL has released an update to its popular Toggolino app. The update has been available for download in app stores for several days. In cooperation with Appsfactory, the application, which includes all episodes of well-known SUPER RTL series, such as Super Wings, Paw Patrol, and Peppa Pig, has been fully revised and provided with a variety of new content and features.

Among the most important upgrades of the new Toggolino app is a large number of new videos and games that can be accessed without any fees. SUPER RTL relies on a freemium model, in which about 700 items are available free of charge. Other items require a premium membership, which costs EUR 7.99 per month. Premium subscription has no minimum duration and can be terminated monthly. It grants access to additional videos, radio plays, and games, is completely free of advertising, and has no further restrictions. With the update of the Toggolino app, the children’s television station SUPER RTL underlines its strategy, announced in the spring of 2018, of supplementing linear television with other distribution channels. According to the motto “Look. Listen. Play. All in one app.”, the mobile application for children between the ages of two and six is designed to offer more than just a media library, and to extent content beyond the usual TV videos.

After a free registration, the app allows creating children’s profiles and saving favourites. Moreover, parental control options, such as age filters and blacklists, ensure that children operate in a protected environment, and can only access adequate and appropriate content. Time-out settings help to limit the time children can spend using the app. The particularly helpful text-free operation allows younger children to use the app. Dr. Alexander Trommen, CEO of Appsfactory, speaking about the project: “We are delighted to support SUPER RTL in its strategic evolution to a content hub, and to present kids with an intuitive app with a diverse content that is tailored to the target group.”
