Appsfactory develops mobile ticketing app for Swiss music festival VIBEZ with own content management system for ticketing
Celebrate with stars such as Steve Aioki, Kool Savas and Sean Paul using Appsfactory’s mobile app: a total of 32,000 participants visited the Swiss music festival VIBEZ held at Biel in Switzerland in mid-June. An integral feature of the festival was the software solution provided by Appsfactory, the leading German agency for digital transformation. Appsfactory, along with the VIBEZ Open Air team, created an innovative app for iOS and Android, through which visitors were integrated directly into the festival. In addition to the ticket purchasing app, an extensive content management system was also created at the back-end, which could be used among other things for ticketing.
Purchase of digital tickets and mobile scanning solution
VIBEZ Open Air opted to use a mobile ticketing solution for concerts and events, thus dispensing with the use of normal paper tickets. The mobile app is mainly used by festival-goers to buy their tickets and show them at the entrance. The app’s homepage also included a music player so that users are provided with an overview of all artists on the event days concerned. The login to the app was via Facebook or Twitter or you could use your own phone number.
A second application developed by Appsfactory was used to ensure a rapid admission process: a mobile scanning solution, which allowed admission staff to easily record tickets as QR codes. This incorporated one particularly clever feature: the tickets’ QR codes were regenerated every minute so as to block ticket sales on the black market.
CMS at back-end for ticketing
There was also a focus on the back-end of the project, in addition to the mobile app for iOS and Android. The resulting dashboard offered organisers an overview over the proportion of standard and VIP tickets already sold on the festival days concerned, thus providing an option to manage the scaling of ticket prices. The content management system implemented also allows them to upload their own photographic material relating to the artists.
Appsfactory is delighted with the success of the innovative festival and is hoping to have a second edition of VIBEZ in 2020 – further features, such as billing for food and drink consumed via the app, are already at the planning stage.
