Appsfactory develops IoT app for photovoltaic technicians
The new SMA 360° app, developed by Appsfactory on behalf of SMA Solar Technology AG, offers photovoltaic technicians professional support in the planning, operation and maintenance of solar energy systems. The SMA 360° app acts as a mobile universal tool providing the technicians with a continuous overview of all technical information, thus making it easier for them to install the systems. Appsfactory collaborated with SMA to create the project from conception to implementation and roll-out. As part of the SMA IoT platform for energy management, ennexOS, the SMA 360° app was awarded the IF gold award for service design and user-friendliness.
Planning and sale of solar energy systems via app
The SMA 360° app simplifies both the planning and sale of solar energy systems by recording customer and consumption data directly on site. It also permits the simulation of the energy balance and the display of possible savings. This makes the issue of solar power more accessible to the customer, and the app serves as an important decision-making aid during initial consultations. The trend topics e-mobility and heating are also taken into account from the outset, which can translate to a decisive competitive advantage. The individual offer can then be sent directly to the customer as an e-mail, and if confirmed, all data for detailed system planning can be easily transferred to the free SMA planning tool Sunny Design.
Faster system commissioning – better service for customers
Under the menu item “Operation”, the technicians receive support as far as commissioning and monitoring the systems is concerned. The SMA 360° app allows the photovoltaic systems’ power inverters to be started via QR code scan, so that the customised solar energy systems can be connected to the grid more easily and quickly. Technicians can use the app to access their entire system portfolio in the Sunny Portal monitoring portal in order to be able to view all relevant system-related energy and performance data at any time. Detailed descriptions, proposed solutions and repair instructions provide particularly efficient support in the event of a fault. With the help of the error code analysis via app, information can be exchanged in advance, thus saving travel costs to the customer as well as time spent on repairs.
